For Dry Skin:
If your skin feels tight, flaky, or parched, oils rich in fatty acids like argan, marula, or jojoba will support. These oils help to lock in moisture, soothe irritation, and improve skin elasticity.
For Oily Skin:
Contrary to popular belief, oily skin can also benefit from facial oils. Look for lightweight, non-comedogenic oils like camellia or rosehip. These oils can help regulate sebum production and balance the skin's natural oil production.
For Combination Skin:
Combination skin can be tricky to manage, but the right facial oil can help. A blend of oils, such as rosehip and jojoba, can provide hydration to dry areas and regulate oil production in oily areas.
For Sensitive Skin:
If your skin is prone to redness, irritation, or inflammation, oils like acai, argan or borage may assist. These oils can help soothe the skin and reduce redness.

Acai (Euterpe oleracea): Açai oil’s deep green colour from anthocyanins and phenols makes the oil particularly nourishing and anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-bacterial. It helps with hyper-pigmentation, age spots and colour variations, helps even out the skin tone.
Argan (Argania spinosa): A nutritious oil with generous antioxidant compounds including vitamin E and pro-vitamin A carotenes, Argan oil's fatty acid profile helps hydrate and nourish the skin, improving elasticity and suppleness. It's suitable for dry, mature, or dehydrated skin and naturally occurring polyphenols help calm inflammation and redness.
Avocado (Persea americana): High in Oleic acid (Omega 9) and Palmitoleic acid (Omega 7) which are both excellent to protect the skin against dryness. The presence of vitamin E and lutein helps shield the skin from environmental damage and free radicals, potentially reducing wrinkles and fine lines.
Baobab (Adansonia digitata): Rich in Omega-3, 6 and 9 fatty acids which help hydrate, nourish and improve skin elasticity. Also contains pro-Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Vitamin E, all powerful antioxidants which protect and combat signs of aging.
Borage Seed (Borago officinalis): Borage seed oil has the highest recognised GLA content of any oil so far. GLA (gamma-linolenic acid, an essential Omega 6 fatty acid) is a known anti-inflammatory, helpful in combating a host of skin issues, alleviating redness, itching and irritation
Buriti (Mauritia flexuosa): A rich red oil, extremely high in carotenoid pro-vitamin A compounds that help to repair and restore skin health, it protects the skin from UV damage but is not a sunscreen.
Camellia (Camellia oleifera): Rich in tannins, just like tea, Camellia oil tames the over-productive sebaceous glands that can cause oily skin. The astringent properties help rebalance, protect and tone the skin. Camellia oil is easily absorbed by the skin without leaving a greasy residue, also making it a good choice for oily or acne-prone skin.
Cucumber Seed (Cucumis sativus): High in linoleic acid (an Omega 6 essential fatty acid) is light feeling on the skin and is quickly absorbed without leaving a greasy residue, making it ideal for oily or combination skin. Also contains silica, which may contribute to smoother, firmer-looking skin, and vitamin E which helps protect the skin from free radical damage.
Evening Primrose (Oenothera biennis): Evening primrose oil (EPO) was the first oil discovered to have a significant source of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). GLA is a fatty acid essential for reducing inflammation, boosting the immune system, balancing hormones, and promoting healthy skin, nails, and hair. EPO also contains tannins which provide astringent properties, keeping the oil light on the skin.
Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis): Unlike most plant oils, jojoba oil is not actually an oil but a liquid wax. This wax ester structure closely resembles the natural sebum produced by our skin. Jojoba has generous antioxidants, is high in vitamin E and is nourishing to dry skin yet can also help oily skin due to its tannins.
Kukui (Aleurites moluccana): A popular choice in Hawaiian skincare, Kukui nut oil boasts a balanced blend of linoleic (Omega 6), alpha-linolenic (Omega 3), and oleic (Omega 9) fatty acids. This unique combination provides both nourishing and anti-inflammatory benefits to the skin.
Marula (Sclerocarya birrea): Marula oil is very high in oleic acid (Omega 9), and also contains substantial saturated fatty acids, giving the oil a feeling of substance and body on the skin, absorbing well and leaving a silky feel. Marula is rich in antioxidants and has impressive oxidative stability, due to high levels of polyphenols and vitamin E.
Moringa (Moringa oleifera): High in phytosterols which help control inflammation, maintain collagen support and protect against UV rays (not a sunscreen).
Pomegranate Seed (Punica granatum): High in Punicic acid (Omega 5), Pomegranate is antioxidant rich and reparative of skin damage and UV exposure. It also provides collagen support and potentially reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
